I have been fortunate enough to pursue work that serves others.  I never viewed teaching as a role of authority.  It was an opportunity to meet the needs of the student by offering my expertise.  This allowed me the good fortune of recognizing what a hard job that is, and appreciating my instructors for sharing their knowledge in pursuit of my goals.  Every job is dependent on other people, doing other equally important jobs.

As a young man in my twenties, I taught adults with developmental disabilities.  I created a vocational day program for those with severe and profound cognitive deficits.  The experience allowed me to explore and implement teaching methodologies that influence me up to the present day.

I worked with the homeless men and dual diagnosis populations, and learned perspective and discovered gratefulness through the stories they shared.

As a contracted Acupuncturist working in Supportive Oncology, I’m fortunate to provide my services to those undergoing debilitating chemotherapy, radiation therapy.  I’m lucky to witness, address, and alleviate some of the fear and anxiety that go along with it.  And I’m grateful to have the opportunity to treat them with the care, respect, and dignity that they deserve.

I look forward to extending my service from within the field of Nutrition and Dietetics.
