Collaborative Consultation (C.C.)
CC stands for
Chief Complaint. It is a “Big Picture” meeting to get an overview of your goals.
CC stands for Carbon Copy. We need to make sure we are both on the same page.
Lastly, CC stands for Collaborative Consultation. We’re interviewing you to determine if we can help. You’re learning about us, what and how we do things so that you can make informed choices.
The core questions asked help your acupuncturist to identify your goals. Where are you? Where do you want to go? Is there anything keeping you? The consultation will not delve into the finer points. Before going into the examination, you will be confident to know your Acupuncturist has the years, knowledge and practical experience to truly understand your goals and to assess if we can help you.
This evaluation is geared towards your specific sport or activity.
Western Medicine has numerous specialties. How do you know which one can help you the most effectively?
The CC gives you the chance to answer:
Who is your Acupuncturist and what are their unique qualifications?
What services and skills do they offer me to help me reach my goal?
What should I expect?
Designed specifically for Sports and Performance
Do you require an M.R.I. to shave a few minutes off of your best race time? How about a full blood panel?
We understand that sometimes pain is just pain. We also understand that performance is all about function. So we won’t try to convince you to take advantage of everything else Chinese Medicine can offer. We will cater the training to your goal. And if you respond as quickly as you’d like to, we’ll never mention all of those other options. But, if you feel it is in your best interest to find out why certain things recur or don’t last as long, we have options.
S.E.T. is about improvement, increasing function, tracking, studying and continuously cycling you towards your goal. So, our exam is different than the examination we perform in the other two categories. And this is why it pairs so well with Acupuncture.
Chinese Medicine has a 5,000 year old track record proven by millions of martial artists, soldiers, and other people that needed peak performance.
The exam for those in the “Perform” category is specific to your sport or activity. We want to know specifics about movement, breath, and some of the keys to your hard work.
First "Training" Session
Treatment is a passive word.
Your Training is Active!
We call these sessions “Training.”
Is pursuit of your goal passive? Does a cyclist just coast? Does a swimmer just float?
Of course not! Treatment is passive term. So we prefer to use a more active word to describe what we can achieve through S.E.T. and Chinese Medicine.
We’ll begin with reviewing the data from the examination. We’ve set the goals, established the baseline, and we’ve reviewed the basic method for gathering data.
Are you ready? Now it’s time to get S.E.T.!
Stage 1 of S.E.T. includes a short series of Acupuncture treatments specific to your sport or activity, your level of function, and your specific patterns.
You’ll be provided with easy to use tracking tools, instructions, and aftercare to gather the data necessary to move you forward.
Stage 1 determines whether you stay the course or abandon ship. Don’t worry. We would have stopped the process at the initial evaluation stage if we didn’t think we could help. Stage 1 may also determine the next step, how we monitor, and how we set the new benchmark!
Treatment is not “one-size-fits-all.” Are you a “fast” learner? You may know this. You may even have some experience with Acupuncture. But we need to establish how quickly you respond based on your goals and the initial 4 treatments. This will determine how to get you moving towards your goal most quickly and efficiently. S.E.T. is different. You will receive assessment and reassessment to customize your treatment at each step towards your goal.
