“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” ― Lao Tzu
Collaborative Consultation (C.C.)
CC stands for
Chief Complaint. It is a “Big Picture” meeting to get an overview of your goals.
CC stands for Carbon Copy. We need to make sure we are both on the same page.
Lastly, CC stands for Collaborative Consultation. We’re interviewing you to determine if we can help. You’re learning about us, what and how we do things so that you can make informed choices.
- 30 -45 minutes
- Education for Informed Decisions
- Goal setting
- Tracking to measure progress
What do you think of when someone says “I’m in Recovery?” Recovery is a state of being. There is no stated goal to move you forward. Insight Wellness believes the active verb “recover” to describe an active progress towards a state that occurred before an event or process.
What exactly does that mean? What did you feel like before the onset of menopause? How did you move before an accident? What was your pain level before the surgery? Did you have a traumatic event? And, yes; Did you become addicted to a behavior or food or substance?
“Recover” is all about getting YOU back.
It starts with the evaluation. We need to educate you to make informed choices. We can explain it in regular terms. Or, we can explain the process in scientific terms. Just remember, a magical result is not “magic.” 5,000 years of medical science cannot be devalued simply because a sceptic doesn’t understand the terminology or philosophy! After all, how did the hard sciences of the day explain what they saw under a microscope for the first time?

- 30 minutes

- Chinese Medical and S.E.T. Diagnostics to individualize your Initial treatment plan
Climbing that “mountain” can seem insurmountable. The examination is the first crucial step. We need to know where you are now to determine if we can get you back to the state prior to the trauma, the surgery, the event, or the addiction.
The 5,000 year old Chinese medical version of the EEG and the EKG is both narrow and deep. Think about this phrase. There are primary body systems. Each system is responsible for output. The work of a given system can be healthy or unhealthy. And the production of each system encompasses the mental, the physical and the emotional. This is not “voodoo.” Nor is a “psychological” component to an illness separated from a physical symptom. Obsessive thoughts carry no more stigma than a stomach ache.
The diagnostics we employ allow us to see if systems are hyper (too much), hypo (too little) or simply not interacting well with the other systems.
Then it’s time for you and your acupuncturist to outline your goals, your measures, and your plan!
Steps

What step describes your current state?
How many steps will it take to meet the next goal?
- 20-45 minutes (depending on diagnostics)
- Acupuncture
- Goal setting
- Aftercare Instructions
- Tracking Instructions for each treatment
Treatment begins, as it does in the other categories, with acupuncture.
Acupuncture is at once the most direct and the most subtle way to measure how effectively your body receives and responds to a medical signal.
This “signal” occurs without negative systemic side effects. Instead, you may see changes or shifts in other seemingly unrelated areas.
Life on earth may very well have started with simple, single cell organisms.
Multi-cellular organisms become more complex. But they still had a way to signal each other.
At its root, S.E.T. is about sending the signal, recording the results, and constantly strategizing how to get you too your goal most efficiently.
After the initial acupuncture sessions, you and your acupuncturist will have a definitive measure of your response. And your Acupuncturist will use this measure to decide, with you, about the next step to advance your goal.
